SUMMARY
Status: Open | Carrd | Mods Portfolio [gamebanana]
Types of mods:
I do:
Retextures and Recolors (even to make the shape look different)
Ports (taken from other sources and retextured to fit the style of genshin)
Kitbashes (mix parts of models, and I can change them to look unique)
Custom Models (modeled and textured from scratch)
Icons/game art and gliders
I don’t do:
Shaders (because they break every patch)
Face mods (although I can ask people to collab)
Animation mods (things like flapping wings)
Types of content:
I do:
OCs and character overrides
Ship themed mods
Skimpy outfits + Mods with NSFW body bases
Some gore and dark themed stuff (ask and I will say if I accept)
Different body types
I don’t do:
Skimpy/NSFW/Suggestive mods for the child model
Fully nude mods without creative aspects
Lighten the skin of the few tan characters we have (save for overrides)
0**. GENERAL NOTES**
a. I don’t do private commissions! Every mod I make is posted publicly. I can open exceptions for OC’s, but in that case I will want to adapt the outfit (textures and some elements) and parts of the hair to be a new outfit for the genshin character (instead of the OC head), and post publicly that version.
b. I will provide the blend file to my commissioners, so you can convert them to other format outside of modding, like VRChat. Some notes regarding the conversion:
- Mods are inverted horizontally, so you/the person converting will want to swap that before anything else
- The face will need to be added, since that isn’t part of the modding
- In modding, the vertex groups / bones are named with numbers, and don’t include a armature, since they will work with the armature inside the game. You will want to rename them to the names of the character’s bones in the armature you are using.
- If you read the sections Limitations of Modding, you know that mods won’t include custom/new bones for things like skirts if the og character didn’t have one. You might want to re-rig those new elements when converting a model, for better physics
c. I can adapt fanarts, but to avoid any trouble, I would appreciate getting permission from the artist first - and they need to give permission specifically to the fact that their design will be used in a commission, since, as the designer, they could want a portion of the money. If they don’t give permission or reply, I can make something similar but not a full adaptation.
0. LIMITATIONS OF MODDING
So that you have the right expectations, it’s important to establish these obstacles. Feel free to ask questions in DMs.
- Genshin is a bit limited when it comes to editing faces, and editing the height of a character is even harder. The faces can be slightly modified, as long as no more polygons are added to not break shapekeys, so I can ask other modders better at that than me to do that part - and either you can pay them, or I can set aside part of the money you gave me to pay them myself. I will handle the rest of the mod.
- I can mod Wuwa… kinda. I am still learning, so for now I just make the model/textures, and ask other people to take care of the conversion to mod. I will make sure to find someone willing to convert the model before telling you if I accept a Wuwa commission, and you can just pay me and I will divide the money with my collaborator. In Wuwa, it’s easier to change face shape and character height.
- We cannot add new bones/vertex groups to weight things to. In simpler terms: Imagine that you want to put a skirt on a character that doesn’t have one. Outside of modding, it would be possible to rig the model so that the animations for the skirt worked properly, but in modding it’s not. We usually find workarounds to make those additional parts flow, like copying the behavior of capes, long hairs, and other parts that characters have, but it won’t always look perfect, so there might be some weird stretching or clipping. In certain characters, like Mavuika, the flowy parts (hair) are even separate objects, so she is basically a base body and nothing we give her can have physics, it will stay rigid.
- We can’t add custom animations, or change the element of the character being modded. So you might want to consider those (along with character height and face, in the case of genshin mods), if you want an OC or character override.
